Check Out This Hard-Core Workout...

My friend and professional strongman competitor, Elliott Hulse, just shot this killer hard-core training video of everyday average guys (and gals) training in his gym and getting in awesome shape from "Lean Hybrid Muscle Workouts".

Let me tell you, I'm jacked, inspired, and ready to hit the gym after watching this! You can check it out for yourself below...

If you liked that style of training, then I've got a special treat for you because on this Thursday's Total Fitness Bodybuilding Talk Show Professional Strongman competitor, Elliott Hulse, is going to be joining me!

This guy is the real deal and knows his stuff when it comes to training to get lean, mean, and brutally strong. I'm super pumped about having Elliot as a guest on our show because he is going to be sharing some killer training tips about how we can use the Lean Hybrid Muscle Style of training to pack on muscle, increase strength, and blast away stubborn bodyfat at the same time.

This is definitely something you don't want to miss!

  3. Get real, lifting and working muscles to exhaustion is essentially the same whether you are lifting potatoes, toothpicks or barbells. The real key is isolation of muscles and working them hard over a long period of time. Doing military presses with chains ain't a damn bit better than using a universal machine with cables. Doing push ups with your feet on a box ain't a damn bit better than doing them on the floor, exhaust the muscle, demand more and more out of yourself with regard to reps and you will grow assuming the fuel is there to feed the growth.

  5. I don't want to be pessimistic, but the body can't be in both a catabolic and anabolic phase at the same time (ie you build fat as you build muscle and you lose muscle as you use stored fat)

I thought regardless the training method, the nutrition was the pencil that drew the line; so how can you explain this? I mean it's all fine seeing results and stuff but I really would like to understand..

  7. Wish I was close by then I would be working out there too.

Unfortunately, here in India, we have the plain vanilla gym's like Gold's etc.

None with the specialised training like the hybrid workout.

  8. I think any serious workout will improve your strenght. I wonder though, in this case I wonder if there is any serious planning involved.
While seeing these pictures, I have my doubt about some exercices beeing very dangerous for injuries.

  9. Lee,

I like your style of strict, strength training much better than this stuff. This seems to me more like, if not exactly like, crossfit workouts. Too many sloppy movements for my tastes. Again, your workouts trump this.

  13. Looks like an intense workout, great as a change to your casual gym routine. Although I doubt its good doing this workout in the long run. It will mostly likely lead to over training and overuse injuries. The forms used in this workout were not the best. Especially the log press.

  14. this seems like a lot of the same ideas behind the 300 workouts. exhaustion sparks muscle growth and fat loss

  15. alvin said looks like a hell of lot of fun! If lifting and training is your game this sure is a nice and different change to traditional and sometimes boring and stale exercises. I wish their gym were near by, that would be my 2nd home!

  20. Thanks Lee!

It seems like a good workout. Lots of fun, Rocky Balboa style. I think that combined with an extra varied routine, it could bring very interesting results.
