  5. Doesn't the "heat" pretty much ruin the protein?

  8. I just made some and it tastes pretty good, It would probably taste better with the whipped cream shown in the video.

  9. The heat maybe an issue on the protein, it probably does have some affect, but I would not worry about it. After all everyone cooks their protein foods like meat, chicken, etc. Yet when it comes to protein powder everyone is worried about heating it.

I'd say just eat twice as many brownies to make up for any damaged heated protein :-)

  10. not gonna lie it doesn't taste that great but better then nothin...

  11. Lee, the thing with meat is that it is a solid natural food. It doesnt loose any macronutrients when cooked (except for fats as they tend to drip off naturally)....Protein powder on the other hand is just a chemically based organic product (i guess lol?)...But im sure some of the protein still stays in there. Still this brownie is probably better than most deserts people tend to have (ice cream, candy, choclate, chips, etc)

  12. 75$ for a book is way to expensive...

  13. Where does the protein go, lol?

It's not about losing any protein: it's about the protein becoming denatured by the heat and the effect that has on its bioavailability.

Perhaps someone who knows something can comment.

  20. You're right Lee these are AWESOME!! They are a bit dry and rubbery/chewy but still awesome.

  21. For those of you are worried that the heat will "break down" the protein, don't worry. All heat does is denature proteins, making the amino acids into straight molecules like a string instead of the usual bunched together form that they typically take. There is still just as much protein in it as what you put in.

  22. i just smoked a big joint and made one of these up. good stuff! i put it in for 50 and it was a bit too much. so be careful when heating it they can dry dry out easily.
definitely gonna get me some cool hhwhip to go with these! thanks Lee.

  24. Lee, I tried the recipe yesterday....It's not too bad....Honey drizzled on top is also good.

  25. I just made one and used 2 packes of splenda. Its not bad. Its no real browny. I am sure the honey or cool wip would make it better. But just plain is ok. Goes good with my coffee. Thanks for the tip.

Here is the nutrition facts that I come up with:
    21.5 fats (regular PB)

    Vince B
    10.5 Carbs
    39 protein
    393 cal for 1 batch

    Half is 10,5,20 196 cal

    A pure protien bar is
    4.5,17,20 180 cal

  26. Perhaps a minute is too long of a cook time because my brownie was very stodgy and unpleasant.

  27. hey lee ... dont know if i am too late at asking... but is there any alternative to peanut butter? i kinda dont like it that much..

  28. Well, Lee, I strongly dislike them. I made them and didnt want to put them to waste so I finished them but I thought they were bad. I think a better choice would be to put all the raw ingredients and some milk in a blender and just make a shake.
