Don't be a Bench Press Dummy...

Don't be a Bench Press Dummy... Always use collars on the barbell.
It takes 3 seconds to put on the collars and that is 3 seconds well spent.

  3. hahahahaha lmao what a loser first of all that was to much weight for you bud and second of all what is the point of a spotter if hes not going to spot you anyways that made my day to watch you look like an idiot

  4. haha thats hilarious. A good spotter wouldn't have hurt either

    ReplyDelete
  5. idiot, the way he shaked the bar...

    ReplyDelete
  6. That was just ridiculous. I am amazed that more people don't get hurt from stunts like that. Personally, I do not use collars because the bar should never be in a position where the weights can slide off. I always lift in a rack so if I can't make the lift, I just drop it on the spotter bars. That other guy wasn't much of a spotter either.

  7. Collars are a good idea yes, but they are NOT good when benching alone. That's my rule of thumb. If you bench alone and can't get that last rep, or push that 1 heavy rep, then an easy escape is to tip the bar and have the weight fall off, rather then fracture your sternum or WORSE.

  8. In the first place why would he go that heavy when it is so obvious this idiot can not lift it!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. What a D***, he couldn't even lift either.

  10. Textbook technique too!!!!

  13. OMG what a twat.. i would be so embarrassed to go back after i done that.. looked like too muchweight for him anyways

    ReplyDelete
  14. What the hell was that?? that weight way too heavy for that little guy and it showed. Then his buddy just stood there and watched him humiliate himself

    ReplyDelete
  15. if he would have had collars on that he wouldn't be able to bail the weight off, he'd be stuck...

    ReplyDelete
  16. First of all, he should of made sure he could lift that or something. Second, the spotter should of helped him instead of just held his hands to the sides and stare. and third, that was some of the worst technique I have ever seen!!!
People shouldn't be so stupid as to do anything like this.

  17. Hahahaha, hilarious goof! I've witnessed this more often than once. The best moments are the few seconds after.. how they stand up from the bench, acting like everything is fine and like they meant to do it. Priceless!

  18. This is a text book definition of BAD spotting. Bum off the bench, too heavy, bad spotter, always going to end in tears wasn't it!

    ReplyDelete
  22. not to mention he has terrible form

    ReplyDelete
  23. slap the face of the spotter and slap your face too, if you can't, ask the spotter to do it for you!!! and don't go back to the gym anymore, GO TO THE CHILDREN'S PLAYGROUND!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. sure bet that was funny but I really dont know I couldn't get it to play.

    ReplyDelete
  25. SHit what a fucking idiot, who told him that with those sticks he could lift that weight? malditos estupidos los dos.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Working out is better that not working out. Maybe the problem is that he is retarded?!

    ReplyDelete
  27. WTF??? What were these two retards thinking? I must admit though, pretty hillarious....

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ego, ego, ego! Oh dear - I guess he's now discovered that his 1 rep max is something LOWER than that crazy weight he tried!!He needs to learn that it's not what you lift, but how you lift it that really counts...

    ReplyDelete
  29. Some peoples kids... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  30. Showing off and trying to lift such a heavy weight isn't the way to do it and for sure having a spotter day dreaming about what he's going to eat tonight isn't a good idea either... Made me chuckle anyways. Thanks!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Way too heavy for this guy. Glad he wasn't hurt.

  32. Mr Lee, qucik question, difference between benching on a smith machine and doing normal bench?? will one work better??

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hey Lee,
I'm pretti positive that you wouldn't be posting this clip if it weren't for a good reason. Thanks for the tip!

    ReplyDelete
  34. LMAO, y would u want to get this on tape? Jackass! First of all find a spotter that is not holding a grudge against you, you are most likely to come out of the gym that way... second if your trying to amaze the world of youtube by benching 225lbs make sure you can do it before you try call a press conference!

  37. i just put up 3 plates today i started with two set twenty pushups then twelve at one plate and twelve with two plates then 3 reps at my old max that was 285 so i went for 3 plates 315 hellyeayah baby!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I wonder if the spotter secretly hates him? Otherwise, why allow him to humiliate himself like that? Further more, why tape this? Note to self. Make sure you can lift the weight before you tape your feats of strength! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  39. why have n idiot spot you when your a total idiot yourself lamo!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Lol that would be funny to watch, but that would be so embarrassing to have that happen to you lol.
The spotter wasnt really doing his job

  45. Sounds interesting Lee, but it wouldn't load up let alone play! John

    ReplyDelete
  46. This one does not play for me either Lee. Just says loading forever

    ReplyDelete
  47. If you are going too heavy solo on a press and can't handle the weight, what makes you think you can control the bar to 'just tip it to one side and let the plates fall off.' Did you ever think that the bar will spring quickly in the opposite direction and will probably hit the person coming to help you? Then again, people who think that way don't wear seat belts either.
